This policy explains what we do with the details you send us through the forms on this site, the cookies and similar technologies used on www.minetrans.co.za, and how you control both. It is written to meet the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
MineTrans Insurance Brokers is a division of Donaldson Group (Pty) Ltd, an authorised financial services provider, FSP No. 53166. Donaldson Group (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for personal information processed through this site, and its Information Officer is registered with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Two forms on this site collect personal information, and each asks for your consent before you submit. You are never required to complete them to read the site.
Risk review enquiry (on the Contact page). Required: company name, contact name, email address and telephone number. Optional, and only what you choose to give: your position, mining sector, site location, risk areas of concern, annual turnover, business interruption sum insured, indemnity period, current insurer, key facility, previous claims, site visit availability and your message.
Business interruption methodology request (on the BI Methodology page). Required: contact name, company name and email address. Optional: telephone number and your message.
Why we collect it. To answer your enquiry, to prepare a risk review, quotation or the material you asked for, and to keep the records a financial services provider is required to keep. This is processing carried out at your request, with your consent, so that we can take steps towards providing a service to you.
Where it goes. Submissions are recorded in a private Google Sheets workbook belonging to Donaldson Group (Pty) Ltd, through Google's Sheets API. Google acts as an operator on our behalf and may process the information on servers outside South Africa. Access is limited to the MineTrans staff who deal with enquiries. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with other brokers or insurers without your instruction — approaching an insurer on your behalf is something you ask us to do.
Marketing. Submitting an enquiry does not sign you up to anything. We will only send you marketing material if you separately ask for it, and you can stop it at any time by replying or emailing us.
How long we keep it. Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any resulting business, and thereafter for the period required of a financial services provider under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act and related record-keeping obligations. After that they are deleted. You can ask us to delete your details sooner, and we will unless we are legally required to keep them.
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. This site also uses your browser's local storage, which works in much the same way. Both are covered by this policy and referred to here as cookies.
Nothing beyond what is strictly necessary is set until you choose. When you first arrive, a banner asks for your consent, with accepting and refusing offered equally. Your choice is recorded and applied on every page after that.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time, without giving a reason and without any effect on the service you receive:
Withdrawing consent does not undo processing that already took place while consent was in force. Clearing your browser's site data also erases your recorded choice, so the banner will ask again.
These make the site work and cannot be switched off. They set no advertising identifiers and are not used to profile you.

Set only with your consent. Tags are delivered through Google Tag Manager (container GTM-MZTBRWHT). Until you consent, Google Consent Mode holds these tags and advertising identifiers are redacted from any request.
Depending on the tags configured in the container, consenting to analytics may set Google
Analytics cookies such as _ga and _ga_<id>, which measure which pages
are read and how visitors arrive. Consenting to marketing may set Google advertising cookies
such as _gcl_au, which measure whether an advert led to an enquiry and allow relevant
campaigns to be shown elsewhere. These are third-party cookies set by Google, and Google may process
the data outside South Africa.
